THE BOTHY

The Bothy is a back to basics, ‘bothy experience’ situated in a superb position overlooking Loch Torridon and the Torridon mountains beyond and just a stride down to the shore of Loch Torridon.

Lovingly restored by skilled Yorkshire Stone Masons and local timber craftsmen, there are two rooms, each with 2 beds which can be placed together to make a double.

Each room has a woodburning stove, a table, chairs and a blanket box. All the furniture has been beautifully made, in our own wood, by a local cabinet maker.

The rooms are connected by a ‘sitooterie’ (a scottish colloquial term for a place to ‘sit out’ in!) with big windows that make the most of the glorious views over to Ben Alligin. Here there is a table, chairs, and a basic camping kitchen set up with running water.

There is no electricity, so you are treated to a wonderful off-grid, digital detox surrounded by nature.

There is a gas powered hot shower adjoining the bothy. The long-drop privy /composting loo is situated 30 metres away in the garden.
